"Monarchs of the North"
Have you ever
seen a bull moose moving swiftly through the forest? Would you like to see
one? These "Monarchs of the North", the largest living members of the deer
family constitute one of Ontario's greatest wildlife assets. The tourist,
pausing with his family by a northern lake, thrills at the sight of a moose
feeding quietly in the wilderness. The hunter, escaping from the pressures
of business and urban living finds solitude, and the excitement of the wild
when searching for the monaarch. |

Ontario moose hunting produces trophy racks!!!
A very happy moment.. The smile says it all. A big bull like this will
average about 1100#. But after the trigger has been pulled, the photo's
taken, and a brief celebration, the work begins. Our guides will quarter
your trophy in the bush, and with a big bull like this you end up with 5
heavy quarters to haul out. |
This experience can be yours.
At Canada North Lodge we pride ourselves in thinking that we have one of the
best hunts available. Our 25 years of commitment and experience in offering
these hunts & our history of happy guests speak for itself. Our success
story speaks well for us. It is our goal to see that you will get the best
that can be offered. Your success is our success. |

"Our Aircraft -
The Beech"
Our 11th base line - Zone
1C - hunt is held on Canadian lakes that are accessible only by air. They
are 60 to 80 miles to the north of Canada North Lodge. This is a very remote
area, there are no roads, no cabins, no hunting pressure. We have held the
permits for these lakes for many years. The lakes we utilize have a proven
history of success. The only hunters allowed on these Canadian lakes are the
resort guests that hold the MNR permits for the season. On the lakes we
utilize, our camps are set up for 2 to 4 persons, depending upon the lake.
We do not mix parties.
|
|
About the
camps:
The 11th Base Line camps are
fully furnished tent camps. The tents are large wall tents complete with
ground covers, and tarpaulins. A good wood stove is installed for heat. We
furnish all the utensils, propane cooking stove, Coleman lanterns, saws,
food, and everything else it takes to make a completely furnished camp. |

If you decide
to join Canada North Lodge for one of the greatest big game hunts on the
North American Continent, you will experience the many thrills of such a
wilderness trip. The float plane / fly-in trip to your remote Canadian lake,
the daily plans and conversations about the hunt, the frying of bacon and
eggs over an early morning fire, the thrill of spotting a moose, and the
jubilant return of hunters and guide with the prized Monarch of the North.
We look forward to the opportunity of having you as one of our hunters. It
would be an adventure you will remember for years to come. |
About the camps:
Making do
with a bush broom!!!!
Deluxe tent camps are set up well
in advance to your arrival on lakes chosen for their isolation, habitat, and
accessibility. Large tents with wood stoves (plenty of wood cut in advance),
canvas floors, thick mattresses and separate kitchen tent or tarped area
make for a comfortable stay. Boats, motors and canoes (on certain lakes) are
of good quality and include plenty of gasoline.

About the
area:
If you want to hunt in areas
that seldom or have never been hunted, this is the package for you. The
Ontario hunting zones are 80 to 120 miles from the nearest road, so don't
expect to see anyone else. We choose areas where you will be the only
hunters on the lake. Make sure and bring your camera, wildlife is plentiful
and the scenery is breath taking that time of the year. The population is
excellent and is definitely not over-hunted as no one hunts these areas but
ourselves. |
|
About the guides:
The guides are experienced and have worked for us
for years and are known to be some of the best in the area. They are
prepared to make your Canada hunt a success. The guides are very good
outdoor chefs and will prepare all your meals, so plan on being fed like a
king. They will scout the area, call, quarter, & dress your bull or cow;
about everything else you can think of when it comes to making your hunt
successful and enjoyable. |

We offer Ontario hunts in several zones. Zone 1C, an all fly-in hunt,
usually opens during the 3rd week in September. The hunts are run for two
consecutive weeks in Zone 1C. The later hunt, our zone 3 outpost hunt,
usually opens during the second week in October. Only two bull tags are
available for this hunt and this hunt is sold on a first come first serve
basis. Both hunts have an excellent success ratio. |
