A Big Ontario Bear
Have you ever had the thrill of seeing a big black bear in the wild? Would
you like to see one? Black bears constitute one of Canada's greatest
wildlife assets. The tourist, traveling with his family is thrilled at the
sight of a bear in the wilderness. The hunter, escaping from the pressures
of business and urban living finds solitude, and the excitement of the wild
while quietly sitting on his stand while watching a couple of cubs playing
nearby. |

The Population is excellent
The population in our Bear Management Area
(BMA) is excellent, and has never been over hunted. This BMA is a large 368
sq. kilometer area which provides almost unlimited baiting sites and is an
exclusive area for Canada North Lodge and our hunters. |
 |
 |
"The Area"
Our BMA encompasses
30 miles of water and land on the Woman River Chain of Lakes, 5
Portage Lakes just off the Woman Lake Chain, and hunting access to land on
both sides of the Joyce Lake road which extends 15 miles to the north of our
lodge.

"Our Baited
Sites" We provide
baited
sites, 30 to 40, checked daily for bait and activity. The sites are set up
and maintained a couple of weeks prior to your arrival and provide hit
history and activity. This large number of sites provide hunters with an
ample choice of sites and the capability to change sites if desired. Our 25
years of experience in outfitting these hunts allows us to set baits in
historically known areas which in turn increases the odds for success. |
 |
|
 |
"About our success"
The area we hunt has a proven history of success - 40% to 50% - on
overall average, based on our 25 years as owners. We do not count missed shots
or opportunities. Number of hunters divided by actual kill success is used for
calculations. Being factual - we have had the unbelievable high % years and have
had the disappointing low % years. Weather conditions and mother nature has
control . . as hunters and outfitters we can only do our best. We are proud of
these honest averages and feel the %'s are impressive.
